My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Bear – Your Loyal, Toy-Loving Best Friend
Bear is a playful and affectionate 4-year-old Rottweiler/Terrier mix who lives for his toys—especially tennis balls! He’s the undisputed champ of fetch and is always smiling, especially when he’s playing or spending time with his people.

At 70 lbs, Bear is strong on a leash, but thanks to professional training, he knows many commands and is eager to please. He would thrive in a home with a fenced yard where he can run, play, and show off his fetching skills.

Bear is incredibly loyal and sweet with everyone he meets. He gets along well with other dogs he trusts and enjoys making new friends. Currently in a loving foster home, we can confidently say he has excellent house manners and a big, goofy heart. He even lets his foster dress him up—proving just how patient and fun-loving he really is!

If you're looking for a devoted, playful companion with a silly side, Bear could be the perfect match.

More about this shelter

Abandoned Pet Rescue (APR) is one of the largest no-kill animal shelters in South Florida with the mission of rescuing and sheltering abandoned and abused cats and dogs with the goal of finding them new homes. APR's adoption center has about 150 cats and 30 dogs, all of which receive nutritious meals, veterinary care, enrichment and love.

APR, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, was founded in 1996 by a group of volunteers who were trapping, spaying and neutering feral cats and quickly realized the greater need to help abandoned pets and advocate for a no-kill community. APR is funded solely by generous donors and grants.
