Lights, camera, ADOPTION! Hollywood is ready to audition for the biggest role of his life: a forever home. With his dazzling blue eyes, sleek silver coat, and signature seal-like bark, this 70-pound, 3-year-old Weimaraner/Lab mix steals the spotlight wherever he goes.

A true leading man, Hollywood walks well on a leash, has excellent house manners, and is as cuddly as a squishy teddy bear. He’s friendly with other dogs (just needs a slow intro), and is a gentle goofball with everyone he meets.

Sadly, this superstar was returned to our rescue when his owner had to move, but he’s still hopeful his biggest fan is out there. Until then, he’ll be signing autographs and perfecting his red-carpet strut.

Their adoption process

1.
Submit Application

Visit www.abandonedpetrescue.org to see adoptable cats and dogs. Fill out an application for the pet(s) you would like to meet and adopt.

2.
Meet the Pet

Once you have filled out an application, a team member will contact you to schedule an appointment to visit APR.

3.
Approve Application

APR does not do same day adoptions and takes multiple applications on each pet to best match pets and families. APR may do home checks.

4.
Sign Adoption Contract

If approved, you will sign a contract and pay the adoption fee. All pets are up to date on vaccines, spayed/neutered and microchipped.

5.
Take the Pet Home

APR hopes you stay in touch by joining APR's Facebook Alumni Page. Adopters can reach out to APR at any time with questions or concerns.

Additional adoption info

You must be 21 years old to adopt and have never been convicted on animal cruelty or neglect.

Abandoned Pet Rescue (APR) is one of the largest no-kill animal shelters in South Florida with the mission of rescuing and sheltering abandoned and abused cats and dogs with the goal of finding them new homes. APR's adoption center has about 150 cats and 30 dogs, all of which receive nutritious meals, veterinary care, enrichment and love.

APR, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, was founded in 1996 by a group of volunteers who were trapping, spaying and neutering feral cats and quickly realized the greater need to help abandoned pets and advocate for a no-kill community. APR is funded solely by generous donors and grants.
