My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

LOCATION: Carbon Hill, Alabama
DOB: 03/09/2020 (Estimate)

Blaze is a very playful boy who loves to chase and cuddle! When you sit on the couch, he wants to be right next to you soaking up your attention and enjoying some petting time. And if you are more active, he loves to be running outside and would do wonderful as a hiking or jogging buddy!

This beautiful fella has a lot of energy but also knows how to settle down for some quality cuddles and movies. He loves to play fetch, but he isn’t always the best at bringing it back. He enjoys basically anything that gives him the opportunity to run! Having stuffed animals to hold and nibble on are comforting for him-he won’t destroy them. But his favorite toy is probably a tie between his Kong Moose or his Nylabones.

He got to go on a beach adventure which he absolutely loved but he wasn’t the biggest fan of the water. The sand was his endless playground where he could stretch his legs and run, run, run!

His favorite spot in the house is probably his crate. This is a safe space for him to spend some time alone and relax. He dreams best at night when his kennel is covered.

He takes a minute to warm up to new people but once he does, expect him to try to sit in their laps! He does okay with kids but it does take him more time to warm up to them as opposed to adults. Once he does warm up to the littles, he views them as his best friends. Even still, a home with children over 12 would be ideal. He does have some quirks when it comes to people as he prefers women in general but also he likes men with beards. He also does forget people if it has been a few days since he last saw them, and it will take him a bit to warm up again. When he is out in public, he does wear a muzzle-not for any biting or aggression, but just to deter people from coming up to him unexpectedly.

Blaze is house trained, does well on a leash and enjoys car rides.

His ideal home would be with a homebody who is an experienced dog owner, who only has dogs or allows him to be an only dog. He does not do good with farm animals, or other animals in general (Ex: Cats, birds, chickens, cows etc.). He is a sweet, fun boy looking for a great home. Maybe that home is yours?!

Go meet their pets

Our rescues are scattered all over the United States in many different states. Scheduling a meeting would not be a problem. We hold many events throughout the year. You can find the latest news on our facebook page or website.

More about this rescue

To rescue Great Danes from neglect, abuse, and abandonment while providing medical care and individual rehabilitation through our experienced and loving foster home program until we are able to provide each rescued Dane with a qualified, caring, and permanent home that will ensure a good quality of life they deserve.

To assist owners that cannot afford spaying, neutering or heartworm treatment as funds allow while also educating owners on affordable, local spay/neuter clinics, spay/neuter benefits, vaccinations, backyard breeding, behavior, nutrition, and obedience. Additionally, we want to be a link point to other rescues and clubs. Raising awareness around rescues and the Great Dane breed is of great importance to us.

We have been rescuing Great Danes since 2011 and we take pride in the collective love, concern, and dedication we have given to the misunderstood and forgotten Danes. It is our mission to continue to be the voices of the less fortunate Danes and to provide them safety and their birthright to a quality of life filled with love and dignity. You can help us achieve our mission by donating funds, items from our wishlist, items of relevance, your time through volunteering, or by lending your home as a foster.
