My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Beau is a beautiful 64 lb, 3-year old German Shepherd mix. He loves walks, fetch, zoomies in the backyard, car rides, doggie daycare, humans, and other dogs. No cats!!! Beau is house-trained, crate-trained, and leash-trained, although he still pulls a little on the leash and will need help with that. Beau was rescued from being an outside dog 24/7, regardless of the weather.

His previous owners also declined heartworm preventative for Beau and he has tested positive as a result. We are paying for Beau’s heartworm treatment and are committed to fostering him until his forever home is found. Please know that if Beau were not cat-aggressive, we would be his forever home. He is an incredibly good boy! Sadly his behavior with our cats is not okay, and our attempts to train him otherwise have failed.

We know there is a great (cat-free) home out there for Beau. Perhaps it’s yours!!

Beau is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so custody and ongoing care are provided by the foster, not by DFWRM.

Adoption fee for dogs is $250. We required an adoption application and check both vet references and pet deposits / breed restrictions if they apply. We also do a home check prior to all adoptions.

Dogs can be met at our adoptions events, at their foster homes, or the boarding facility where they are staying. They can also be met during the home visit.

More about this rescue

Our goal is to save dogs at the local shelters in the Dallas \ Fort Worth Metroplex from euthanasia and adopt them to the public. We spay / neuter these dogs as well as provide all necessary medical care. We also educate the public about responsible pet ownership. We love dogs and our goal is to reduce / eliminate euthanisias being done in this area by shelters due to overcrowding.
