My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I’m Candace, a beautiful and energetic Border Collie mix. I’m 9 months old, 50 pounds, and black and white in color. I’m looking for my forever home where I can be your loyal and fun companion.

I’m a friendly and playful girl who loves the water. I’m house, crate, and leash trained, and I’m ready to go on adventures with you. I’m spayed, vaccinated, and heartworm negative, so I’m healthy and happy. My rescue is not sure of my breed, but their best guess is Border Collie mix. I’m good with children and other dogs, but I don’t like cats. I have good puppy energy and I would do best with an active family.

I was saved just in time from euthanasia at Memphis Animal Services. Now I am looking for a forever family of my own. If you’re looking for a loyal and fun companion, I’m your girl. I am being fostered in Crab Orchard, Kentucky but can be transported to other states for the right family. If you are interested in adopting me, please feel out an application today! I can’t wait to meet you.

Go meet their pets

Our adoptable dogs are all in various foster homes and can be met by contacting rescue. Rescue will then provide foster home's contact information. Meet and greets will be arranged between foster and potential adopters. We also have adoption events at Petsmart on various dates which can be checked on our Facebook page, Operation Save a Shelter Dog.

More about this rescue

Our Mission

Operation Save A Shelter Dog is a foster based, IRS-recognized 501c(3) rescue whose mission is to work with shelters on the East Coast by saving dogs at high risk of euthanasia or that have little hope of adoption in their current condition. Not only is it our goal to find furever homes for our dogs, but also to educate the public on the importance of spaying, neutering, vaccinating and providing preventative care for their pets.
