Eddy’s journey has been one of courage and quiet progress. This sweet boy came to AFRP as a fearful stray, with very little experience being around people. Thanks to the love and patience of his foster family, Eddy has begun to blossom, and now he’s ready to find a forever home of his own.
Eddy is a gentle soul with a kind heart. While he’s still learning to trust, he has made wonderful progress and shows more confidence each day. He’ll need an adopter who understands that he may take time to settle in and who’s committed to continuing the training and reassurance he’s been receiving.
He gets along beautifully with other dogs and cats, and he’d really thrive with a confident, friendly dog companion to show him the ropes. Eddy is looking for an adult-only home, or one with very patient teens who can respect his need for space as he adjusts.
To help manage his anxiety, Eddy is currently on medication, and his future family should be prepared that he may need to continue it long term.
With patience, love, and a calm home environment, Eddy is sure to reward his adopter with the sweetest bond, a gentle reminder that sometimes the quietest dogs make the most loyal companions.
** This pet is a Foster-to-Adopt candidate!
That means you can foster them for a short trial period to make sure they’re the perfect match for your home before finalizing the adoption. If you’re interested, please complete both a foster application and an adoption application so we can get the process started. **
Eddy is in a loving foster home. A meet and greet can be scheduled once an online adoption application has been submitted and approved by AFRP staff. Visit www.animalfriendsrescue.org to fill one out today!

Additional adoption info
Adoption fees help to cover the cost of the care the animal has received during their time with us, including spay/neuter, vaccines, microchipping, deworming, and flea treatment and basic foster care.
All potential adopters complete an application and are screened using a standardized series of questions by a trained adoption counselor. If the application and screening are satisfactory, a qualified adopter can complete a contract, pay the adoption fee and take the animal home.
