My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet PITA, a shepherd/ husky/ basenji mix, that was rescued at the last minute off death row at a high kill shelter. She is around 2 years old, around 45 lbs, with gorgeous soft foxy fur. She is amazingly sweet, bonds quickly and is very eager to please. She has puppy like energy, is a quick learner and listens very well
She has "sit" down so well, she bounces down on the ground in excitement and anticipation.. Obedience lessons would be very helpful to help her reach her full potential. She bonds to her people, she will not let you out of her sight. She has a protective side to her, as far as alerting to strangers. She stays close when walking around outdoors...and comes back when called. She does not like being alone, but settles down well in her crate. She is fantastic with my 9 year old daughter. I would say she needs a home without cats because she's a little overly curious with mine. She will need to be introduced slowly to other dogs. She does well with some, but is a little bossy with others (like another dominant female).

She would do well in an active home. A home where the owner works from home or can bring her along places would be a bonus, but not necessary.

She is not a chewer or destructive. She is spayed, utd on vaccines, microchipped and is heartworm negative and on heartworm prevention.

Located on St Helena Island, SC. For more info on PITA, please call or text Tara @ 843-270-2348
