Hi, I’m Chino — professional cuddle enthusiast, stuffed mouse champion, and all-around friendly guy. I used to live in a busy home with two adults, two toddlers, and even a newborn baby. I handled it all like a pro. I’m very respectful around children and have always been known as the friendliest cat ever. I truly love people — strangers, kids, grown-ups — if you’ve got hands for petting, I’m usually happy to meet you. I’m an affectionate but independent kind of fellow. I do love to sit in your lap (it’s one of my specialties), and I enjoy pets… when I’m in the mood. I’m pretty good at letting you know when I’ve had enough — sometimes I’ll give a gentle nip or a little nudge to say, “Okay, that’s my limit.” I never mean harm and have never drawn blood. I’m just clear about my boundaries. I’m also not the biggest fan of being picked up — I prefer to keep all four paws in charge, and if I’m not into it, I’ll simply wiggle my way back down. I enjoy playtime (especially with my beloved stuffed mouse), and I’m a curious, sweet boy here at the shelter. The humans here say I’m affectionate and friendly, and I’ve been showing them my best self. I’ve never lived with other cats or dogs, so slow introductions would be important if I were to have animal siblings. If you’re looking for a friendly, affectionate companion who enjoys attention but also appreciates his independence, I might just be your guy.
