My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

The neighbors were stunned when Albie showed up. What was this fancy cat doing in our yards? We'll never know, but wherever she came from, there was clearly a LAP. Albie is 100% lap cat. If you love to sit and read or binge watch, and would like a sweet, soft, cat to cuddle with, Albie is your girl. She will settle in contentedly, purring away, for as long as you let her. The only thing Albie loves nearly as much as lap sitting is catnip. She can amuse herself for long periods playing with a simple catnip toy.

Albie is estimated to be between 2 & 4 years old. With her silky long white fur, grey and brown points, and eyes like blue crystals, she looks like a Balinese, but of course we haven't done a DNA test and we don't know what she is. If she does come from Siamese/Balinese stock, she's unusually quiet, because they are known to be vocal, while Albie rarely meows. Her soft fur is not prone to matting but does need to be brushed about 2x a week. Please note: We don't know if Albie is a "purebreed" or not, and no assumptions can be made regarding whether or not she is hypoallergenic.

Albie was outside for an unknown period of time, at least 4 months and possibly a lot longer, and is fearful in new situations. She also hisses and sometimes softly "bites" when something startles her, though this behavior will likely fade when she settles into her forever home and realizes that she is safe. Because of this, we think Albie would do best in a quiet home without young children, ideally with an experienced adopter or someone who understands cat behavioral signals. She will need a little time to adjust to her new home, but then she will want to be your very best friend. Even when she's not in a lap, she likes to sit near her person.

Albie is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and has tested negative for FeLV and FIV. We don't know how she is with other cats. If you have a tranquil home, are cat-savvy, and are looking for the absolutely perfect lap cat, maybe Albie is the one for you!
