Riley isn’t new to Castoff — she’s one of our long-timers, a familiar face with a heart as big as her story. This beautiful 35-pound sweetheart has been waiting since 2021 for her true forever home.
Riley is a proud graduate of the Colwell Rescue Program, where she formed a deep bond with her detainee handler. He loved her so much that he adopted her after release — but life had other plans, and housing challenges brought her back to us.
Then, she found love again with a wonderful mom-and-daughter duo. But separation anxiety made it hard for her to adjust, and once more, she returned to the shelter — still gentle, still hopeful, still ready to try again.
Here’s the truth about Riley: she’s not broken. She’s been through it. Like many dogs who’ve spent too long in a shelter, she just needs stability, patience, and someone who won’t give up when things get tough.

Visit us (by appointment only) at our physical location in Blairsville, GA 30512. Please e-mail us your contact info. and which pet you are interested in. We will happily arrange a meeting with that pet.
We also hold adoptions most Saturdays from 10-4 at the Alpharetta Petsmart. It is located across from the North Point Mall. Also Petco in Milton/Alpharetta. Please e-mail us for specific dates and locations. Not all pets at our shelter are at the adoption event. If you would like to see a certain pet at an event, e-mail us and let us know which one you are interested in.
