Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Meet Rusty - AKA Rustoleum
Meet Rusty (short for Rustoleum!) — The Orangiest Orange Cat on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, and Quite Possibly the CEO of Mischief!
Rusty is a 4-year-old orange-and-white tabby who’s basically the feline version of a sassy boss. Don’t let the “one brain cell” stereotype fool you—this guy is sharp as a tack. He figured out the litter robot faster than most humans figure out their smartphones, and he’s got a clear agenda: get all the attention and never leave your cup unattended.
Speaking of cups, Rusty is a certified drink thief. Water? Ice water? Wine? If it’s yours and it’s unattended, it’s his now—bonus points if he can knock it over afterward, just to make sure you know who’s really in charge. When he’s not orchestrating beverage heists, he’s demanding cuddles like a polite dictator, complete with a gentle nip if you dare to ignore his love requests. His purr is so loud, it could probably power a small city.
Rusty loves hanging out on the arm of the couch, splooted out like a furry little loaf, watching the world go by through his favorite window like the orange king he is. He gets along well with submissive cats who he can push around, but also snuggle with, and even chill, cat-friendly dogs, though when it comes to playtime, it’s strictly feline-only. His favorite game? Tag. And yes, he’s always “it.”
If you think vet visits are a nightmare, think again. Rusty treats the vet like a celebrity meet-and-greet and is absolutely fascinated by the stethoscope. Who knew a cat could have such a thing for medical gadgets?
But don’t let his charm fool you completely—Rusty has his grumpy orange tabby moments. He’ll swat you (gently, but firmly) to say either “Love me now!” or “Back off, human!” So, a home with older kids who understand cat boundaries is ideal.
And here’s the kicker—Rusty will meet you at the door every day like a furry little bouncer, making sure you know you’re his favorite human (don’t let it go to your head).
If you’re ready for a smart, sassy, lovable, and occasionally mischievous orange whirlwind who’ll keep life interesting (and your drinks on edge), Rusty’s your guy!
