My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Barley, the ultimate companion for any lifestyle! Whether you're an adventurer at heart or someone who cherishes lazy days on the couch, Barley fits right in. This lovable pooch has a laid-back personality that makes her the perfect addition to any family. She's just as happy to join you for a leisurely hike in the great outdoors as she is to snuggle up for a movie marathon at home.

Barley's love for life is contagious, especially around meal times when she'll show off her adorable happy dance. Despite a tough start in life, she's a bundle of positivity, always ready to shower her humans and furry friends with affection. She's a pro at making everyone feel loved, and if belly rubs were a currency, Barley would be rich!

With her unique blend of possibly Shepherd and Husky heritage, Barley brings the best of both worlds - the warmth and loyalty of a Shepherd and the gentle soul of a Husky, all wrapped up with a charming underbite that adds to her irresistible charm. She's the kind of dog who makes every day a little brighter, embodying a peaceful and loving spirit. She is fully house broken and leash trained. As an added bonus she's perfect outside her crate with no destructive tendencies.

Estimated to have been born in July 2023, Barley is all set to find her forever home. She comes to you with all her medical needs taken care of - from vaccinations and deworming to heartworm testing and prevention, spaying/neutering, and even a microchip, all included in an adoption fee of $325.00.

More about this rescue

We are a foster based animal rescue in the Nashville area.

Our mission is to work as a shelter diversion for animals who are facing homelessness, through no fault of their own. We provide vet care, a foster and adoption for animals belonging to owners who are homeless or living below the poverty level, where rehoming is their only option.

The majority of SOARescue animals come to us through our big sister organization SAFPAW (Southern Alliance for People and Animal Welfare).
If you would like to learn more about SAFPAW and their weekly spay/neuter transport, homeless outreach program and women's post recovery home, please visit their website at www.safpaw.org.

If SOARescue has the capacity to aid with other strays or owner surrenders, we will gladly do so. Our goal is to help relieve pressure on the over-burdened shelter system.
