Introducing Duke!
Outdoorsy Playful Affectionate Snuggly
Personality: Duke is a loyal and protective dog with boundless energy. He's always on the move and is eager to explore and engage with his environment. Despite his busy nature, Duke is incredibly smart making him a joy to train and interact with. He enjoys entertaining himself with rope toys and squeaky toys. He's also a fan of hugs and pets, often seeking attention from his favorite humans. Duke LOVES spending time outdoors.
Home Requirements: While a physical fence is highly recommended, it's not a strict requirement for Duke's forever home. He's crate-trained and housebroken, making him a well-behaved companion indoors. Duke gets nervous around young children. He is more comfortable around older kids such as 12 years of age. His forever home needs to have older or no children. Duke thrives in an environment where he's given plenty of attention and mental stimulation. He has no experience with cats or other small animals, so slow and intentional introductions will be necessary.
Training: He has mastered the commands: sit, stay, shake, and more, but could use some additional training with walking nicely on a leash. Duke has a dominant personality that previously included some aggressive behaviors toward other dogs. He has recently completed a training program which has significantly reduced that behavior. His forever family will need to commit to implementing the techniques he has learned.
Likes and Dislikes: Duke adores dog toys, doggy daycare, treats, and cozy blankets in his kennel. However, he dislikes having his front legs and paws touched, bath time, and being still for pictures.
Health: Duke is in good health with no current concerns at this time.
Duke may be a bit smaller in size compared to other Danes, but his heart and personality are larger than life. If you're ready to provide a loving forever home to this affectionate Great Dane, please reach out to us by following one of the two options below.
