My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Here’s your opportunity to make a huge difference in an adult cat’s life—cause adult cats rock, you know—and in return Kitty Clarkson will be your devoted companion. This classic tabby, who is 8 or 9 years old, has perfected her purring, snuggling, and lap-sitting and now she needs to find her forever home and human(s) so her expert skills don’t go to waste. Oh, and pick up a wand toy and KC will show you some of her special moves.

Kitty Clarkson has been through it, but she is resilient! She received her name after she was found screaming her head off to get rescued after she was abandoned outside in the dead of winter, when she needed her human the most. Thankfully, she was rescued by a Good Samaritan and then taken in by a foster, where she was given the veterinary care she so desperately needed. Her bloodwork revealed an infection, which was treated with antibiotics, and kidney disease so now she’s on special diet and doing amazingly well.

Now stable, Kitty Clarkson will need to remain on a diet of Hills kidney care mixed with her fave wet food, and she’ll need regular vet visits to monitor her kidney disease. KC will show her appreciation by being your loving snuggle bunny for many years to come. Her purrfect forever home is one where she’ll be your one and only pet and her human(s) will appreciate all she’s been through and want to give her a warm, loving place to live. Kitty Clarkson has received a dental, since she was rescued, and is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, negative for FeLV and FIV, and prides herself in being well groomed and a consummate litter-box user.

Additional adoption info

Our cats are almost all in foster homes. Upon approval of your application (including reference check), we will connect you with the foster parent(s) so that you can meet the kitty you're interested in. If it's a good fit, we'll do a home check for safety issues, and then process the paperwork so that you can officially adopt your new family member!

More about this rescue

We are a network of rescuers in Central Brooklyn (primarily in Bed Stuy, Ocean Hill, and Crown Heights) who help each other out. We do both TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) as well as the rescue and adoption of friendly cats and kittens that we find on the streets. We don't have a physical facility, so our cats are usually in foster homes, or staying with us in our own homes. Our goal is to find loving, permanent homes for all the cats we take off the street, and to make better lives for the ones we return there.
