My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Looking for a furry ball of energy to brighten up your days? Look no further because Cera is here to fill your home with love, laughter, and endless cuddles! Cera is a large mixed-breed dog with a heart as big as her personality.

~ Cera is looking for a very active home that would possibly be able to enroll her in dog sports or give her a job to keep her mind busy
~ Cera is looking for a home with adults only as she needs to work a lot on her manners
~ She would do best in a house rather than an apartment as she does love to sing
~ We recommend that Cera gets lots of socialization to help her become her best self
~ We did notice that while in our care she has shown signs of having separation anxiety
~ Cera will need to be signed up for training prior to going into her forever home to ensure she will learn her basic manners and obedience

Regularly Exhibited Behaviours Noticed:
- Very High Energy
- Under-Socialized
- Vocal
- Mouthy
- Jumpy
- Separation Anxiety
- Needs work on demanding / pushy behaviour

Explanation of Behaviours:
- A young dog who is very high energy and will need a lot of time, attention, training, exercise, and enrichment daily to do well.
- She will need to be socialized a lot in a safe and proper way to help set her up for success in the future.
- She needs a lot of work on her overall manners and self-control. This includes difficult behaviours such as jumping, mouthing, and pushy interactions.
- She is vocal, especially when seeking attention or interactions from people.
- Possible separation anxiety has been noted while in our care.

This dog would benefit from:
- An active home
- Adult home only
- A lot of time and attention
- A lot of training and socialization
- No apartments
- Dog sports or having a job

Training needs/behaviours that need to be worked with for this dog:
- Lots of work on self control and pushy / demanding behaviour
- Basic training
- Basic manners including work on difficult behaviours like jumping and mouthing
- Socialization

**For more information on any behaviours stated above, please check out our behaviour fact
sheet: https://kwsphumane.ca/BehavioursandDefinitions

and greets. They will be experiencing a new environment and meeting new people, which means
they may not exhibit the same behaviours they did in their foster videos or while in foster care.

Additional adoption info

Come into the Centre and if you see a pet you like, you are able to do a "Meet and Greet" with that pet. Spend some time in alone with the pet or take a dog out for a short walk. If you are still interested in adopting the pet you can meet with one of our Adoption Counsellors who will have you fill out and application and will ask you some questions about the environment in which you live. If you seem like a wonderful match and your envirnoment meets the needs of the pet then your application should be approved!
