Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Cookie came to us as a stray with a microchip. Unfortunately, his owners never responded to our calls and texts. He was microchipped by IACS, so we contacted them for more info. This is what they told us:
Looks like he was with us twice in 2022. Returned to owner both times. Officer said no issues handling. Intake staff said very sweet and squishy. Loves butt scratches. One note says Strong! But so sweet. A bit snatchy with treats. He came in once with a second dog. But other time alone.
He lives in a foster home with 3 other large dogs and a toddler. He does great with everyone. He is underweight at 66 lbs, but should likely be closer to 75 lbs. We are estimating he is 5 - 6 years old. He is a very sweet dog who is EXTREMELY potty trained. He will hold it a very long time to avoid making a mess in his crate or kennel. He does need to be fed separate from other dogs, but that may go away once he recognizes that food is not scarce.
Cookie is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative.

All of our dogs and cats are fully vetted prior to adoption - spayed/neutered, microchipped, flea treated, dewormed, vaccinated and tested for heartworm (dogs) or FIV/FeLV (cats).
To adopt an animal from us, you will be required to complete an adoption application. When your completed application is returned to us, we will conduct a criminal background check, verify home ownership or landlord permission, check with any veterinary references and conduct a home check. Then pay adoption fee.
Please note that our adoption contract for cats has a NO DECLAW clause.

More about this rescue
We are a small non-profit rescue focused on the 4.77 square mile town of Speedway, Indiana, home of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Our goal is to make Speedway a no-kill town where every animal is spayed/neutered, microchipped and properly cared for. We rescue all animals taken to the town's Animal Control facility. We assist owners in need with veterinary care and food/supplies. We help trap-neuter-release feral cat colonies and socialize/adopt kittens under 3 months old.
Due to limited resources, we are unable to accept animals from outside the town's boundaries at this time.
