My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello everyone! Allow me to introduce myself...my name is YogiBear but my pals just call me Bear. I am a 6 1/2 year old 39 lb ( all muscle) Boykin boy in search of my new and forever home. I was originally suppose to be a "hunting dog" for a swanky Georgia hotel but my demeanor is more of a country gentleman- I do not like guns , or any type of loud noises like fireworks or thunder- it scares me- so I was immediately given away once my "hunting skills" were determined to be non-existent and they realized I was more of a couch potato! I was adopteed by a nice couple but then they went thru a divorce and unable to keep me....and so here I was looking for a safe place again - thankfully the gals at FCCR learned of my plight after another nice couple gave me shelter and a temporary home. Their Boykin and I didnt get along so it was they who reached out to FCCR for help and actually drove me all the way from Georgia to foster mom in Florida's west coast. Foster mom says I am a very sweet and tender soul who is ball obessessed--I love playing ball! I have excellent house manners and I get along with most dogs although I prefer those smaller than me. I have excellent house manners too! Ohhh and I love to go for walks although I can sometimes pull...but only sometimes sooooo I'm learning. If interested in adopting me please fill out an application at www.floridacockerrescue.org and ask for YogiBear...not just your average Bear LOL. Adoption Fee: $395.00

More about this rescue

Florida Coastal Cocker Rescue (FCCR) is a non-profit organization located in SW Florida. We are dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and re-homing Cocker Spaniels throughout the state of Florida and neighboring states. We rely 100% on donations and volunteers to help us take care of our dogs. All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on vaccines and rabies, heartworm tested, flea and heartworm treatment, and microchip.

FCCR carefully screens all of our potential furever and foster homes to ensure that our pups will have safe and loving homes. Some of our dogs come from shelters and abusive situations and we want to make sure that they will only see love the rest of their lives.
