My Journey I’m about a year and a half old and still very much in my “life is a full-contact sport” era. I’m looking for a home that understands my energy and is ready to embrace it.
My Social Life I would thrive with another high-energy, active kitty who can keep up with my play style. Play isn’t just something I enjoy — it’s my purpose. I’ll need proper, slow introductions with other pets and with kids to make sure everyone starts off comfortably. Once I’m settled, I’m deeply affectionate and bond closely with my people.
My Personality Intense, affectionate, ridiculous, and deeply lovable. Play is my calling, my purpose — possibly my religion. When the laser pointer appears, you are witnessing destiny in motion. Some cats need oxygen. I need daily, enthusiastic, unapologetic play. Under all that energy, though, I’m a genuine cuddle bug. I love closeness. I’m a professional little spoon and will happily plant myself against you at night. I also love being held — once I feel secure, I absolutely melt. I’m also extremely serious about food. Especially people food. I have no standards and no shame. Securing snacks properly will be important in my forever home.

What Makes Me Special I’m the perfect combination of action hero and cuddle bug. I can go from full-throttle zoomies to melting in your arms. My intensity is matched only by my capacity for affection. Smittens isn’t just another cat rescue.
We are a coalition of volunteers with a spay/neuter mission, dedicated to helping both stray and owned animals in the greater San Diego area get fixed, receive veterinary care, and whatever else they may need! Smittens works with shelters and other rescues to route cats to proper vet care and eventual homes, and we take in stray cats who need help getting off the street. We also support TNR for feral cats, and assist cat and dog owners to get their own pets fixed and vaccinated at a low cost.
