My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I'm Glimmet – Your Future Best Friend and Carrot Inspector!

I'm Glimmet, a two-year-old, 71-pound handsome guy with a heart full of love and a whole lot of goofy charm. I’m living my best foster life right now, but I’ve got my eye on something even better—a forever home.

Let me tell you a little about myself. I’m house trained, crate trained, and I know which things are mine to chew (toys!) and which things aren’t (shoes, sorry). I’m super well-behaved when left alone, and I’m happy to nap while you do boring human things.

When I’m not catching up on sleep or patrolling the backyard for bunny invaders, I love to play with squeaky toys and my tug rope. That rope and I have an ongoing battle. I usually win.

I’m also a smart cookie—especially if cookies are involved. I already know all the basics like sit, stay, wait, touch, and leave it. I’ve even started agility training. Just a heads-up, though: I’m an indoor agility champ only. If the AC isn’t on, neither am I. I’ve got standards.

Walks? Yes, please! I’ve got great leash manners, and I don’t pull. I’ll check out a squirrel or bird if they cross my path, but I’m learning to choose treats over the chase. I’m not really into barking or making a fuss—I’m more into sniffing, strolling, and staying close to my person.

Other dogs? I usually ignore them or politely check them out. I’m not a fan of cats though, so I’d rather live in a cat-free zone.

Let’s talk snacks. Baby carrots and green beans are my jam. Every time you open the fridge, I’ll be there ready for my carrot tax. It’s only fair.

I love people, and I really love snuggles. I may be 71 pounds, but I’m pretty sure I fit perfectly in your lap. I’ll try to prove it to you. My whole back end wiggles when I’m excited—it’s just part of my charm.

I sleep like a champ (usually belly up), and I like having room to stretch out. Closed doors aren’t really my thing—I prefer open spaces and sunshine.

If you're looking for a loyal, loving, playful companion who knows when to be calm and when to be silly, I might just be your perfect match. I’ve got so much love to give, and I’m ready to share it all with you.

Age: 2 years
Weight: 71 pounds
Best Fit: Home with older kids (12+), no cats
Skills: Crate trained, house trained, affectionate, leash trained, toy tester, agility apprentice, carrot enthusiast

Think we could be a great team? Reach out—I’ll be here waiting with a wagging tail and a carrot-ready smile.

You can even follow me on Instagram at @glimmet_glimdog to see more of my handsome face. I can’t wait to meet you.

More about this rescue

Adopt a Homeless Animal Rescue (AAHA) is a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing and assisting animals in crisis. We actively combat animal cruelty in any form.

We have a particular commitment to pit bulls and aim to raise awareness about the breed, help those in need, and educate the public:
•We seek to promote this lovely yet unfairly maligned breed as the sweet, intelligent, affectionate, and people-oriented dogs they are.
•We assume stewardship over their well-being and strive to make this world a better place for them.
•We serve as a resource and/or liaison for shelters, individuals, and the community at large, advocating for any animal in harm's way.
•We also function in an advisory role for private citizens who seek assistance and guidance in better caring for their pets.

We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Please help us help the animals!
