My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ahoy, my furiends! Meet Popeye! 🐾💙

This handsome, shy guy has been with us for over 1,000 days—basically his whole life! Trapped as an older kitten alongside his sister, Popeye never quite tamed up as much as we’d hoped, but that doesn’t mean he doesn’t deserve love.

Popeye’s Personality: The Sweetest Scaredy-Cat
Popeye is a big ol’ chicken—but an adorable one! In his cage, he loves pets and attention, but once he’s out, he prefers to keep his distance. He’s a cat’s cat through and through, and if you’re looking for the perfect feline companion for your current kitty, Popeye is your guy! He adores other cats and thrives in their company.

He needs a home that understands he may never be a snuggly lap cat—but that’s okay! With patience, love, and the right feline friend, he just might surprise you. We’ve seen it happen before! In the right home, Popeye could blossom into a confident cat—but even if he doesn’t, he still deserves a safe and loving place to call home.

What Popeye Needs in a Home
🐾 Another cat is a must! A confident, friendly kitty would be ideal so Popeye can learn from them.
🐾 A patient, understanding family who will love him just the way he is, even if they can’t always touch him.
🐾 A quiet, low-stress environment—older, respectful kids are fine, but no loud or chaotic households.
🐾 A secure setup at first. Starting him in a cage will help with socialization.

Popeye will likely need to be sedated for vet visits, but once you get into a routine, it’s easier than it sounds!

Shy Cats Need Love Too!
Shy kitties like Popeye often get overlooked, and it’s just not fair. If you already have a perfect lap cat at home and want to make a difference in another cat’s life, consider adopting Popeye. Sometimes, all it takes is the right home and the right feline friend to bring out their true personality.

Popeye has waited over 1,000 days for a home—could you be the one to change his life? ❤️

Please be sure to read a cat's full bio before applying! We do our best to keep bios updated as we learn more about each cat or as circumstances change. The bio is the best place to find the most current and important information about their needs, personality, and ideal home.
