My name is Mia!

Say hello to Mia, a sweet and loving pitbull mix with a heart full of love and a belly ready for rubs! This beautiful girl is 2-3 years old and is looking for a forever home where she can be pampered and adored.

Mia came to us as a transfer from a Southwest Virginia shelter, and it was clear she had been through a tough time. She arrived skinny and starved, which has led her to be a bit possessive over her food when other dogs are around. Feeding Mia separately from other pets is all it takes to make sure mealtime is stress-free. She is not food-aggressive with humans, and you can easily take her bowl away without any issues.

This affectionate girl is a pro at sitting on command, especially when there are treats involved! She is eager to learn and would thrive in a home that can continue her training and shower her with love.

Mia’s Ideal Home:

- Can be the only dog or with a dog-friendly home that can feed pets separately
- Loves people and craves attention, kisses, and belly rubs
- Needs a home where she can feel safe and secure with consistent meals

Mia is heartworm negative, almost fully vaccinated, and on monthly preventatives. She had a litter of puppies, so her spay surgery is scheduled soon.

The first step in our adoption process is submitting an application through our website. Simply visit: https://www.hoovesandpaws.org/shelterluv.html, click on the pet’s photo to view their full bio, then click “Apply for Adoption” to get started.

Please give us a few days to review your application. If approved, you’ll receive an email from adoptions@hoovesandpaws.org to schedule a meet and greet (including any necessary dog-to-dog introductions).

If the meet and greet goes well and you’d like to move forward, we’ll schedule a home check—this means we’ll bring your new furry friend to your home ourselves. This helps ensure a smooth transition and gives your new pup a familiar face upon arrival. We’ll finalize the adoption at that time!
