Chewy is fully vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, and faithfully protected with monthly flea, tick, and heartworm preventatives. He's a healthy and ready-to-go companion, looking for a forever family who understands his needs.

While Chewy can be a bit nervous around new people, once he warms up to you, he’ll be your most loyal friend. His ideal home will offer him the time and patience to build trust at his own pace. Because he can be strong on the leash, Chewy would thrive with a confident handler who can help him learn to walk politely and gain confidence on his daily adventures.

Chewy is the perfect match for someone who appreciates the rewarding journey of helping a shy pup come out of his shell. We believe that Chewy would do best in a home with no young kids, 13 and up.

The first step in our adoption process is submitting an application through our website. Simply visit: https://www.hoovesandpaws.org/shelterluv.html, click on the pet’s photo to view their full bio, then click “Apply for Adoption” to get started.

Please give us a few days to review your application. If approved, you’ll receive an email from adoptions@hoovesandpaws.org to schedule a meet and greet (including any necessary dog-to-dog introductions).

If the meet and greet goes well and you’d like to move forward, we’ll schedule a home check—this means we’ll bring your new furry friend to your home ourselves. This helps ensure a smooth transition and gives your new pup a familiar face upon arrival. We’ll finalize the adoption at that time!
