My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Albin is a domestic shorthair who was brought into our care along with 6 other young adults as a rescue transfer from another facility in February 2025.
These guys were all apart of a hording case and when they arrived, it was apparent the conditions they were kept in were horrible as all of these poor things were injured and sick. Their group was rescued after the report of neighbors trying to poison all of them as the hoarding case got out of hand. Albin, along with the rest of his group were traumatized when they first arrived but staff gave them a safe space to decompress together and eventually they starting gaining their trust back for human encounter.
Albin is truly just a charming and loveable little dude who actually has quite the fun personality! It took him a while to come around and he is still working on his skittish-ness but, he is a love bug to just about anyone he meets! He loves his feline friends and enjoys when people approach him slowly to give him love! Albin does have some scarring in his eye we believe is due to a past injury in his previous living conditions but, it doesn't slow him down at all! His little eye can be a bit sensitive to strong scents or outdoor dust or debris so he is reccomended to be kept inside or with a clean 'catio' he can play on (Supervised) from time to time! Albin is looking for a quieter but fun and loving family to call his own!

More about this shelter

Valley Animal Center houses thousands of dogs and cats annually until they are placed in loving homes. Majority of our shelter animals are rescued from local animal control agencies who have no more space for their animals. Even animals who have been abused, mistreated, abandoned, and injured are cared for and nurtured until a loving home is ready to adopt them.

We are easily accessible to the residents of the entire six-county region it serves. Even individuals from out of the area and out of state have come to Valley Animal Center to adopt animals from us and utilize our clinic services.

Our mission is to unite dogs and cat with loving people but it does not simply end at the adoption process. With our low-cost clinic, a membership-based dog park, and humane education resources found on our website, we want to ensure our community has easy access to resources that will help them along in their pet ownership journey.
