My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Hatch Date: Unknown

Kiwi, Bleu, Coco, and Rita are a group of four shy Budgies.
One male and three females.
They will be adopted out together.

They came into the rescue from a woman who had inherited them from a relative.
Unfortunately, she felt she couldn't give them the attention they deserved.
Rita is male, but the other 3 are female.
No nests are present, and there has been no egg laying in the two months or
so that they’ve been with their foster family.

They came into their foster home quite skittish.
They seemed to be very nervous when people came into the room with them.
They have now become accustomed to their foster family being nearby, and
reaching into the cage to clean it and care for them.
All of them except Kiwi are willing to eat millet from their foster mom’s hands.

The Budgies love to chew up their toys and cuttlebone.
They eat a healthy diet of fresh chop and Lafeber pellets.
They have plenty of free flying time, and all are cooperative when it’s
time to go to bed in the cage for the night.

These four are a happy little family that offers a lot of entertainment to anyone in the room!
They start their talking chattering when people are nearby, and seem very open to
interaction if the right family is willing to work with them.

This group is being fostered in Cherry Hill, NJ.
They will require an in-person visit before adoption.
We do not ship our birds.
For the Love of Birds is a network of dedicated foster homes throughout NJ and Eastern PA.
As our adoptable birds are living in private volunteer homes,
we only allow approved adopters to make the required visits.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

The adoption procedure begins with completing an adoption application and returning it to us. We will check your references and then call you for a telephone interview. While we check your references, we will ask that you review an educational power point presentation. After your application is approved, it is our policy that you visit with the bird(s) three times to have multiple interactions with them and give you time to consider the adoption and get ready for your new family member. There is an adoption fee for each bird.
