Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This adorable pair of best friends (Wenie & Maribel) were brought to the HSOV either in the night/early morning hours on March 17, 2025. Unfortunately the individual(s) who left them in our care did not leave any information about them as to whether they were strays or owner surrenders .. And though Wenie & Maribel couldn't verbally give us any details, they have demonstrated to us that they are a very bonded pair and depend upon each other for comfort, companionship, and a sense of security.

Wenie is a female Dachshund who is estimated to be 3-years old. She has a brown short smooth coat, short legs, a long body, a long tail, and an adorable classic Doxie face with hopeful brown eyes, a long slender muzzle, and large floppy ears. Wenie weighs 21.4 lbs.

Maribel is a female Shih Tzu who is estimated to be 4-years old. She has a snow white short smooth coat, a long tail, and a beautiful Shih Tzu face with dark brown eyes, a tiny muzzle, a black button nose, and short floppy ears. Maribel weighs 18.6 lbs.

Both Wenie & Maribel have sweet personalities, and they dearly love each other.

In compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Wenie and Maribel were held for the mandatory three-day stray holds so that their family would have an opportunity to reclaim them with proof of ownership. As of March 22nd, nobody has called or came looking for the girls.

Since they were not reclaimed, we will have them spayed and find them a loving home. Wenie and Maribel are so attached to each other that we feel it is in their best interest to be adopted together as a bonded pair, and they will not be separated..

Since they were not reclaimed, Wenie & Maribel went home with a foster family on March 25, 2025 who plans to adopt them after they are spayed.

Wenie & Maribel were officially adopted by their foster family on May 30, 2025 after they were spayed.

Unfortunately Wenie & Maribel were returned by their adopter on October 30, 2025 because she was no longer able to take care of them.

Update: Wenie has an adoption pending as of October 30, 2025.

Maribel went home with a foster family on November 13, 2025 who plans to adopter her if all goes well.
