My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Axle!

This 5-year-old Dutch Tulip Hound is ready to find his forever home.

Axle thrives in a calm home with someone who does not have frequent visitors in the home (he is very protective over his people and land). He has boundaries, but if you respect his boundaries, he will become your most loyal companion. He is cat and dog friendly (he loves his 7 month old foster brother). However, he does not like new dogs coming onto his property once he establishes himself. He must be in an adult only home.

About Axle:
🐕 5 years old, medium size at 27lbs
🌷 LOVES women, but warms up to men with time
🐕 Cat friendly
🌷He loves walks, car rides, treats, running outside, and snuggling
🐕 Housetrained, able to be left loose in the home and non-destructive
🌷Beautiful tri-colored coat that requires brushing and light grooming

Axle is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and heartworm negative. He is in Tampa and his adoption fee is $150.

More about this rescue

We are a non-breed specific dog rescue group, although we do tend to take in mostly large and extra-large breeds, and especially those in the hunting / sporting groups.

Love for Paws exists to protect and advocate for dogs in our community through responsible adoption, the donation of supplies and veterinary care to those in need, by assisting in the effort to limit the overpopulation of these animals and by promoting kindness and healthy opportunity for life.
