My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Arthur’s Compatibility:
Dogs - Meet & Greet
Cats - Passed his cat test!
Kids - 14+

Arthur came to us in tough shape after someone found him running through traffic. He was skinny, covered in fleas, and trying so hard to keep going. That alone says a lot about who he is. A kind stranger stepped in, and now he’s safe and finally getting the care he’s needed for a long time.

We’ve been getting to know him, and wow, is he easy to fall for. He loves toys. He enjoys quiet walks. He leans in for gentle attention like he’s been waiting for someone to notice how sweet he is. He’s a strong boy, but when things feel calm, he settles in and walks right beside you.

If you want a dog with a big heart and a fresh start ahead of him, Arthur is absolutely worth meeting. Give him a chance, and you might walk away with the companion you didn’t know you’d been missing!

More about this shelter

With an open admission policy, a No-Kill philosophy, and more than 3,100 animals crossing our threshold each year, we have still maintained a 98% placement rate over the last 3 years.

This is an amazing feat for any organization…let alone one that takes in some of the most abused, injured and seriously ill animals imaginable.
