My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My Adoption Fee is Sponsored!

My foster writes: I've had a lot of foster pups and Zazu truly is something special. I don't think I've met a sweeter soul. Zazu is very easy going and knows all the basic commands. She is SO happy when it's time for a walk but equally loves being a couch potato while you binge watch. Zazu doesn't ask for much and is very low maintenance. She sleeps soundly through the night, is crate trained, housetrained, a professional cuddler and big lap dog. Zazu gets along well with our medium sized dog. She is a little weary of small dogs, especially when they yap at her. Zazu walks beautifully on a leash. She may pull for a second if she sees another dog but quickly gets back on track with her walker (especially if they have a treat)! Zazu is an easy going, well behaved pup that would be ideal for any family, even new dog owners! She is very gentle and doesn't jump, making her a wonderful family pup for kids. I truly can't believe she hasn't found her forever home yet.

Bonus: She is estimated to be 7yrs but this spring chicken recently had a full glow up at the vet and came back with a clean bill of health!

Meet Zazu - Your New Cuddle Companion!
Zazu was brought to us by officers at the 116th precinct after she was found abandoned in Queens. Despite her rough start, Zazu has been nothing but gentle, wiggly, and ready for love.

My ideal home:
Zazu is a senior sweetheart looking for a calm, loving home where she can snooze in sunny spots, enjoy leisurely strolls, and be spoiled with affection.

Good with Kids?
Zazu is gentle, social, and tolerant of handling-traits that could make her a great match for a family with respectful kids. As always, a meet-and-greet is recommended.

Good with other dogs?
Zazu has shown mixed responses with other dogs in shelter playgroups and seems more comfortable avoiding confrontation. A solo-pet household or slow introductions at home would be best.

Leash Manners:
She walks politely with minimal pulling and happily follows her handler's lead. Just bring the leash and some treats-Zazu's ready to go!
