My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet your new best friend Mars! This teenage pup is looking for a home where he can continuing growing into the best dog he can be. Mars is pretty typical shepherd type dog and is looking for a family experienced with working or herding breeds or who has at least done their research.

Mars is a sensitive boy who would do best in a quieter environment outside of the city, ideally a suburb or rural settling. He is really a dog's dog and needs home with another dog to socialize with, ideally an older, confident dog who he can learn from. Mars would do best in a home with adults or older, dog-savvy children only.

Fill out a questionnaire if you can offer Mars all he needs for life.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Thank you for choosing to adopt a rescue dog! Whether you adopt from Rocket Dog or another rescue group, the fact is you will save a life. Adopting a rescued animal is a lifetime commitment! The first step in our adoption process is completing an adoption questionnaire here: https://www.rocketdogrescue.org/adopt/adoption-application/

From there, you will be contacted by a volunteer to talk more about what you're looking for and if the dog you're interested in might be a good fit.

Go meet their pets

Our dogs live both in foster homes and at the Rocket Dog Sanctuary in Oakland. The best way to arrange a meeting for a specific dog is to fill out an adoption questionnaire on our website here: https://www.rocketdogrescue.org/adopt/adoption-application/

We have adoption events every weekend throughout the Bay Area, which you can see here - https://www.rocketdogrescue.org/events/
