🌸 Meet Chilapa – A Shy Little Flower Ready to Bloom! 🌸

Chilapa is a 1-year-old spayed female Dachshund/Chihuahua mix (Chiweenie) with the sweetest spirit. She was found roaming the streets of Washoe County, scared and alone. During her time at the shelter, Chilapa showed signs of fear and anxiety. While she allowed some gentle handling, she would fidget and roll away, trying to escape the overwhelming environment around her.

We rescued Chilapa in November 2024 and ensured she was spayed and cared for. Since arriving in her foster home, Chilapa has begun to blossom. She loves to play and enjoys the company of other dogs her size. When her foster parent plays with her and the other pups, she shows genuine enthusiasm and happiness, revealing her playful side.

Though still somewhat timid, Chilapa is showing us that with patience, kindness, and time, she will continue to grow into the wonderful Chiweenie we know she can be. She is seeking a forever home that will provide her with safety, understanding, and the opportunity to overcome her worries about meeting new people.
