🐾💙 Meet Ken: A Loyal Friend with a Special Story 💙🐾
Looking for a devoted, energetic, and affectionate companion? Ken just might be your perfect match!
🦴 About Ken:
Ken is a 9-year-old neutered male with the spirit of a pup and the heart of a true companion. He’s current on vaccinations, microchipped, and walks well on leash. He enjoys his daily strolls and is happiest when he’s by your side—sofa time included!
🧬 About His Unique Bump: 💛 A Special Plea for Ken — Help Us Give Him the Chance He Deserves 💛
Ken is one of those rare dogs whose spirit simply glows. Despite the hardships he has faced, he greets every day—and every person—with joy, sweetness, and hope. But behind that bright little smile is a medical challenge that needs our community’s help.
When Ken was younger, he developed a hernia. As he grew, his bladder shifted into that hernia space, where it now rests permanently. After consulting with multiple veterinarians, we’ve learned that his condition is complex and delicate:
🔹 Surgery may be possible, but only with a Board-Certified Veterinary Surgeon
🔹 Even then, the chances of full success are uncertain
🔹 The hernia has likely been stable most of Ken’s life
🔹 At this stage, surgical outcomes are unpredictable
🔹 Without intervention, Ken cannot fully empty his bladder on his own
💛 The good news:
Ken is NOT in pain.
Ken is NOT suffering.
Ken is still the same cheerful, upbeat little guy who loves life, loves people, and proudly sports his “unique bump on the behind” like it’s his own badge of honor.
But to give Ken every possible chance at improved comfort and long-term health, we need to pursue a specialty surgical consultation—something far beyond what a small rescue budget can shoulder alone.
🐾 How You Can Help Ken Today
Your donation—no matter the size—helps cover:
✔️ Specialist consultation with a Board-Certified Surgeon
✔️ Diagnostic imaging and pre-surgical evaluation
✔️ Potential surgical intervention if deemed safe
✔️ Post-operative care, monitoring, and follow-up
✔️ Ken’s ongoing medical needs while in foster care
Ken has overcome so much already. He deserves every opportunity to live the healthiest, happiest life possible—and we can’t get him there without you.
❤️ Please help us give Ken his best chance.
Donate, share his story, send encouragement—every bit makes a difference.
From all of us at Chihuahua Rescue Truckee Meadows—and from sweet Ken himself—thank you for believing in dogs like him.
💖 Why Ken?
Ken is currently in a medical foster home to care for him. 🐶💕
