My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Who is looking for a four legged life partner?

Basics:
-- 2 years old
-- 60 pounds
-- Spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative
-- Top notch cuddle snuggle bug
-- Higher energy. Would love active adopter or fenced yard
-- Needs to be only pet in home
--Shy at first, but forever loyal once you are one of her people

Need a buddy for walks, jogs, hikes? Samantha is down.

Need a smile and chuckle watching the goofiest and happiest zoomies in the yard? Samantha’s gotchu. Zoomie all star.

Need a supervisor for your weekend yard work or gardening plans? Samantha at your service. Bug, lizard, and frog hunting included for free. Also known pro at water hose management.

Need someone to give finish those last few bites on your plate and vacuum up the crumbs as you cook? Samantha has trained for this moment.

Need company winding down with Netflix at the end of the day and filling an empty spot on the bed? Samantha is 10/10 ready to snuggle.

Need a creature full of so much innocence, love, and gratitude for you who looks at you as you are the most important and best thing in the world, and would be happy to do anything in life so long as they can do it with you? Samantha is waiting for you.

6 months ago, Samantha was left abandoned tied to a shipping container without food, water, or shelter. Reports verified she had been out there for at least 24+ hours, but signs pointed she had been stuck out there even longer than that. She vomited and defecated trash for over a week after rescue. Candy wrappers, sauce packets, she was eating anything she could reach on the tether in upmost desperation. She gut-wrenchingly cried and whined in pure panic and fear. Her neck told a story of struggle, a bald impression left from trying so desperately to get away from tether tying her to the container. She was also in heat, left tied in an area with so many roaming strays.

But Samantha is forgiving. Samantha holds no grudges towards humans, rather looks to them with endless hope to receive love. Samantha will be someone’s very best friend and looked back as one of the best decisions they ever made in life

More about this rescue

Joy’s Promise is a promise to keep fighting for those like Joy. The discarded, unwanted, abused and neglected. It won’t always look like Joy, a pregnant mama facing euthanasia. It might be a pittie sitting animal control for months, years unwanted. It might be a boxer mix from a terrible hoarding case. It might be an owner surrender that lost everything they have ever known. It might be a box of puppies who were tossed without the slightest remorse. Joy’s Promise is a promise for Joy’s death to not be in vain, but a catalyst for more lives saved.

Joy’s Promise Canine Rescue is a registered nonprofit corporation and an actively licensed GDA animal shelter. We are a foster-based organization in the process of filing 501c3 paperwork.
