Since I'm a long stay pup, my adoption fee has been reduced! Visit me today to find out my favorite treats and how you can take me home!
Runner is a smart and energetic pup enrolled in our Shelter Scholars program, where she's working on managing on-leash reactivity and developing more focused, relaxed walking skills. Through positive reinforcement, structured leash work, and confidence-building exercises, Runner is learning how to stay calm and connected with his handler, even when distractions are nearby. She's making steady progress and showing great potential with each training session.
What my friends at ACC say about me:
It is unknown if I have ever lived with other animals or children.
I would do best in a home without very tiny humans, although I could be open to older human children once I meet them.
I am playful and cute!
A volunteer writes: Runner! A petite ball of fun and joy. This gray little lady is obviously adorable. She's bright and spunky, silly and social. And somehow has been with us almost two months already! She was found by the police wandering around alone in Queens. On walks, she is described as "bouncing" down the block, full of pep in her step. She has been a quick learner, learning a few pattern games with our behavior team. During her dog to dog greet, Runner barked at the other dog then ran back to her human friends. When we first met Runner, her skin was sensitive and her fur missing in lots of places. She is looking and feeling much better in the days since, her body and coat filling out. Runner is a big toy girl, and ready for a home to take joy in her puppy like personality.
