My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Daxton’s Compatibility:
Dogs - Meet and greet
Cats - Passed a cat test
Kids - Yes

Daxton has lived a lot in his eight years, and not always under the best circumstances. He came to us from a home where he wasn’t fully appreciated, but this big, sweet guy has so much love to give. Our volunteers rave about what a good boy he is!

He’s the kind of dog who likes to learn about the world at his own pace. A new face might get an excited jump or a curious bark, but give him a moment, and he’s all tail wags and gentle snuggles. Daxton enjoys lounging on his favorite sofa spot, hanging out close to his people, and chasing squirrels and rabbits in the yard. He’s housebroken, crate-trained, and has lived happily with other dogs.

Daxton is looking for a calm, patient home with kind, loving people who will make him feel safe and confident. He may have had a rocky start, but he’s ready to show the world just how loving, loyal, and fun he can be.

Come meet Daxton and see for yourself why he’s worth every second of attention.

More about this shelter

With an open admission policy, a No-Kill philosophy, and more than 3,100 animals crossing our threshold each year, we have still maintained a 98% placement rate over the last 3 years.

This is an amazing feat for any organization…let alone one that takes in some of the most abused, injured and seriously ill animals imaginable.
