My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Paprika is a 7-year-old, 15lb Chihuahua mix with a one-of-a-kind personality. He’s heartworm positive, but don’t let that scare you—we’ve got tips and support to help you through it. Paprika isn’t an instant best friend; he can nip when scared and needs a few days to feel safe. But once you’ve earned his trust, he’ll be your loyal little gremlin sidekick. He does well with other dogs his size and would do best with older, respectful kids.

More about this rescue

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, foster-based and volunteer-run rescue, with a small sanctuary space for senior dogs who are unadoptable or in need of lifelong hospice care. Whether they’re with us for a short stay or for the rest of their lives, they are family.

We specialize in saving senior dogs who are often the first to be passed over and the last to be helped. Our dogs come from:

Scary, overcrowded shelters where they’re at high risk of euthanasia
Homes where their owners have passed away or entered long-term care
Situations of neglect, abandonment, or urgent need

They may come to us broken, scared, or sick—but they leave knowing love, safety, and peace.
