My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Bean is a great little guy! At about 9-10 years old and 10lbs Bean is ready for slow rolling adventures. Bean is blind and deaf but Boy does he enjoy discovering the world through smell and touch! Bean has learned to navigate stairs, thresholds, gates, you name it! He is a fast learner and ready for anything. Bean can sense when you’re around and immediately gets excited, tail wagging, and woofs out for attention. He will make such a wonderful companion. Apply to adopt today at Barkingwishesseniorpets.org

More about this rescue

We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, foster-based and volunteer-run rescue, with a small sanctuary space for senior dogs who are unadoptable or in need of lifelong hospice care. Whether they’re with us for a short stay or for the rest of their lives, they are family.

We specialize in saving senior dogs who are often the first to be passed over and the last to be helped. Our dogs come from:

Scary, overcrowded shelters where they’re at high risk of euthanasia
Homes where their owners have passed away or entered long-term care
Situations of neglect, abandonment, or urgent need

They may come to us broken, scared, or sick—but they leave knowing love, safety, and peace.
