My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Zilla is a little thrilla! He`s playful and spunky, so he has a lot of good puppy energy that is just ready for training and snuggles. He will be a medium to large breed dog (He`s already around 16lbs), so he has some room to grow! He gets along great with all the dogs here, so if you have another dog, we recommend bringing them along to meet. Zilla does well on a leash, and loves to meet new people, but still needs work on his training (but he`s so smart and has already learned how to sit!). He gets along best with dogs that can keep up with his amount of play. Zilla is ready to stomp on through to your heart and give you lots of fun and love!

Zilla is at our Cottonwood Mall location!

More about this shelter

Our shelter had it's beginnings in the mid 90's and formally became a nonprofit organization in 2001. The dream of Lee and Sophia DiClemente has grown to be the largest no-kill animal shelter in New Mexico. Lee passed in 2010, but Sophia carries on with the support of a small staff, a large number of volunteers, and numerous donors - large and small.
