If you’re looking for a couch potato… this is not your boy!
If you’re looking for a running buddy who will smoke you in a 10k, leap over obstacles like an Olympic athlete, and then snuggle up like a 50-lb lapdog… congratulations, you’ve found him! More about Koko:
KoKo is an Aussie/Collie mix with rocket boosters for legs. He is a very athletic pup who would do best with a job. Got Sheep? Like to run? Agility? Koko would be perfect! Even with these wonderful qualities, he is a velcro pup wanting to be by his human’s side. A trustworthy companion for the right person or family willing to give him an outlet for his puppy-like energy.
Being part Aussie (we suspect), Koko is highly intelligent, energetic, loyal with a strong desire to please his humans. His strong desire to please makes him responsive to training and eager to participate in activities with you. His prey drive will help you manage any unruly squirrels or birds too!
What He Needs:
No small kids (too bouncy + gets nervous with groups of children).
Active, patient humans who mean it when they say “we’re outdoorsy.”
Someone who sees his high energy as a feature, not a bug.
Ideally: a farm, acreage, or an agility course in the backyard.
Why You will Love Him:
Koko is pure entertainment—part athlete, part clown, part lovebug. He’ll keep life exciting, bond fiercely with you, and guarantee that no day is ever boring (or lazy).
If KoKo strikes your fancy and you are ready to help him continue to be the best Collie-Mix citizen ever, please fill out an adoption application today! Don't wait! And if KoKo is not your cup of tea, we have many more Collies of all ages coming in weekly. Please visit https://tristatecollierescue.org/how-to-adopt/ to complete the adoption application.

To end the indiscriminate breeding practices of irresponsible breeders, to educate the public about the lifetime responsibilities of caring for a pet, including the necessity of spaying and neutering, and to promote the return of undying love and devotion collies offer their owners. Too many purebred collies are found as strays, in dog shelters, or in the humane societies. We hope to eliminate the euthanasia of these collies.
