Here's what the humans have to say about me:
John E is on a furcation until December 27. If you are interested in meeting him, please email the adoption department at adopt@calgaryhumane.ca or book an adoption appointment after December 27
**John E is a Patient Paw, please ask about his reduced adoption fee!** Age: 11 months Weight: 25.5 kg
A bit about John E: - unknown history with kids; all interactions should be supervised - unknown history with cats; slow, supervised introductions over multiple sessions recommended - limited history with other dogs; potential for home with another dog pending successful dog-to-dog introduction
Meet Mr. John E. (the E stands for energetic!). He`s got enough energy to guide Santa`s sleigh tonight (and every night), making him the perfect buddy to go walking in a winter wonderland with. After a long day of dashing through the snow together, curling up for a nap by the fire is so delightful! (Or, he`ll take a dog bed too!) He loves to discover new toys in every store, and a few of his favourite things include hiking, stick collecting and food enrichment activities. This goofy young shepherd mix loves to meet new people and will come bouncing over to wish you a Merry Christmas (and all your guests too!) Just don`t let him rock around the Christmas tree, as sometimes he gets a little too excited!
Okay, Christmas carol puns aside, here`s what you need to know! John E is a goofy young dog with tons of energy who will thrive in an active home that can engage his brain. When he`s not given enough enrichment, he can become frustrated and over-excited, but he`s a polite and overall well-mannered boy when he has a job to do. He has done well with other social dogs! When he does get excited, he redirects well to food and toys. Tis the season to be jolly with John E at your side, so come meet him today!

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.
Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.
Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.
Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.
Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.
Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
