My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Chubbs was brought in by his previous owner on September 24, 2025.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Chubbs! This handsome gentleman is ready to settle into his new home with his sister Jewels #932470! Chubbs is a happy-go-lucky guy who warms up to new people in no time, spreading smiles wherever he goes. He's already leash and potty trained, so most of the hard work is done! His previous humans describe his energy as delightfully lazy, and we can confirm: he's a master napper, even on car rides. Chubbs isn't a fan of cats and can be a little uncertain around other dogs, so a calm, patient home would suit him best. All he asks for in return? A cozy couch, your bed, the front seat, or any comfy spot where he can share his love (and maybe sneak in a snuggle or two)! Could Chubbs and Jewels be the ones to steal your heart? Grab a couple of leashes and collars and bring them home today!

At SDHS:
Chubbs pet has been vaccinated, microchipped and neutered. He is now ready for his new home!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
