My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Fteley is the sweetest little girl, filled with affection! She is very shy in the beginning, but once she opens up with enough patience and love, she is always open to belly rubs and any sort of pets. She has no issues with biting or scratching and will come up to you with her little chirps when she sees you! She definitely is a kitten at heart, and her air biscuits will make that clear to you.

Due to her shy nature, she will do best in a home where she has time to acclimate and feel secure. While she loves pets and quality time, she is still warming up to being held and will take at least a few weeks to fully settle in. If you are looking for an amazing companion with an equally amazing appetite, Fteley is the best one there is.

This cat is FIV+ and will live a normal healthy and long life when provided with quality care such as a balanced diet and yearly wellness exams (like any cat). As FIV+ is not transmittable between neutered/spayed cats under normal circumstances, we are happy for FIV+ cats to mingle with FIV- cats in their adoptive homes.

This cat can be adopted with a friend or as a single cat (but a friend may help her build her confidence).

More about this rescue

Our rescue group was formed in December 2007, but all our Board Members have had extensive experience rescuing and working with abandoned animals. We often work with other rescue organizations to find appropriate and safe foster and adoptive homes for our pet clients. We regularly go to areas with abandoned animals and collect them. The animals are taken to a licensed veterinarian examined, treated and spayed or neutered. Every effort is made to work with the animal and our foster and adoptive families to find a suitable forever home.

For those animals who are truly wild and feral, we release the animal in a safe and secure location after it has recovered from its medical treatment. We also work with certified wildlife rehabilitators to rescue injured and orphaned wildlife. Our organization is focused on improving the welfare of the abandoned animals in need of help in Brooklyn. In furthering that goal, our resources are focused on the animals.

Aside from a few minimal overhead costs such as our website and phone services, our entire budget is spent on animal care such as medical and food costs.
