12-year-old Loca was surrendered to the Downey Shelter by her owners, who said they were moving and couldn’t take her along. Throughout her life, Loca lived with other small and large dogs. During her time at the shelter, staff noted that she did well in playgroups and was calm and gentle around dogs of all sizes.
After becoming a Frosted Face, Loca joined staff and volunteers for dinner and music at a local brewery, where she was calm, quiet, and as you can see in the video, soaked up lots of pets.
Loca then went on a two-week Frosted Fling, so we could learn more about her in a home setting while she soaked up lots of TLC.
Her Fling Family reports:
"Loca is a very, very sweet dog. She loves to be petted and rolls over on her back or side for belly rubs. She only barked to let us know she wanted her breakfast or dinner. Loca did not have a single accident during her time with us and slept through the night. When home alone, she would rest and was not destructive at all.
Loca is very interested in making dog friends, but we only had limited interactions during our early morning and evening walks. She enjoyed going for short walks and sunning herself in the backyard. She LOVED our cool tile flooring! Loca is good riding in the car. Please consider adding a teddy bear to your family!"
Loca deserves to be a cherished family member in a home where she can spend her golden years in comfort. Might that be with you?
