Bashful lives up to his name in the sweetest way possible. While he absolutely loves people and has so much affection to give, he can be a little shy and reserved when meeting someone new for the first time. Once he warms up, his true personality shines through and you'll discover what a loving, wonderful companion he really is.
What's absolutely adorable about Bashful is his love for dogs, especially the really big ones. There's something about those gentle giants that brings out his confident, playful side, and watching him interact with larger dogs shows just how social and fun-loving he can be when he's comfortable. With his sweet nature and capacity for deep bonds, Bashful is ready to find a family who will give him the time he needs to show them just how amazing he truly is.

Visit the Facility and Find a Pet

Visit the facility via scheduled appt. and meet the the dog. If all seems like a good fit, the dog can go home on this day!

More about this rescue

Highland Lakes Canine Rescue was founded in 1999 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization by a group of folks who wanted to rescue homeless dogs from the Central Texas region and care for their health, rehabilitation and then to ultimately find these dogs a forever home uniting them with a newly adopted family. Initially HLCR started out as a foster only organization but over the 17 years has grown into it's own location with a kennel facility, outdoor pens, walking trails and staff and resident caretaker. An active and passionate group of staff and volunteers works tirelessly supporting HLCR and its mission.
