This gentle, mellow mammoth is a pup looking for countryside adventures. With a broad head that seems designed for tender forehead kisses, Otis is just a sweet boy who might lean on you affectionately from time to time. This isn't a dog who needs fancy toys or endless treats; Otis is pretty low-maintenance. We can imagine Otis content in a favorite shady spot on the porch just to smell all the smells and watch the birds. But Otis also seems to like to wander around a bit too and would thrive best in a home that can provide the space for a nice walk. If you're looking for a laid-back buddy for your home and family, Otis might just be your perfect porch side pal.

Visit the facility via scheduled appt. and meet the the dog. If all seems like a good fit, the dog can go home on this day!

More about this rescue

Highland Lakes Canine Rescue was founded in 1999 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization by a group of folks who wanted to rescue homeless dogs from the Central Texas region and care for their health, rehabilitation and then to ultimately find these dogs a forever home uniting them with a newly adopted family. Initially HLCR started out as a foster only organization but over the 17 years has grown into it's own location with a kennel facility, outdoor pens, walking trails and staff and resident caretaker. An active and passionate group of staff and volunteers works tirelessly supporting HLCR and its mission.
