My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hiya friends! My name is TAY TAY and here is some info about me:

PHYSICAL INFO:

  • Breed: Korean Jindo mix

  • Age: approx. 2 years

  • Gender: Female

  • Weight: 36 lbs (16 kg)

  • Height: 48 cm (paws to top of my head)

  • Length: 50 cm (head to butt)

  • Current Location: MEXICO CITY

RESCUE STORY - I was rescued from the streets of Mexico City by a kind woman on her way to work. She noticed me surrounded by a few too many male pups (I was in heat!) and, without hesitation, asked her driver to stop. They helped me into the car and we were on our way! While very little is known about my early life, I am now happy and healthy in the shelter awaiting a permanent home of my very own!

TEMPERAMENT - My rescuer says I’m an incredibly sweet and gentle girl who loves meeting new people! I've settled in nicely here at the shelter and really enjoy the daily routine—especially mealtime and playtime. I’ve made lots of doggy friends, and we have a blast running around and playing together!

ENERGY LEVEL - Medium - While I’m a playful gal and love to romp around, I also know when it’s time to settle down. You could say I have a sense of balance! I even ride calmly in the car! I’ve had quite the journey so far, and now I’m just waiting for the best part—a forever family to share it with. Maybe it’s you?

GETS ALONG WITH:

  • Kids – Unknown. I don’t have much known experience around kiddos just yet!

  • Dogs –  Yes! I get along well with my fellow pups here at the shelter.

  • Cats – Unknown. I would need to spend some time around kitties to be sure!

PREY DRIVE - Unknown. I’m not too sure how I’ll react around squirrels/rabbits etc., so my adopter needs to be prepared and willing to train me through these behaviours, should they arise.

TRAINING:

  • Leash skills – Pretty good! I’ve been practicing walking on a leash (check out this video), but will need an adopter who is happy to continue working with me on my leash manners. A well-fitted harness and some dedicated leash training will help set me up for success!

  • House trained – Work in progress. Frequent potty breaks and positive reinforcement will help me learn housetraining in my new home :)

HEALTH NOTES:

  • I am spayed, vaccinated, and microchipped. I will come to Canada with proof of all my vaccines and test records.

  • I will be tested for Heartworm etc. before flying North.

  • NOTE: It is not uncommon for rescue dogs to require dental work/cleaning after they are adopted. West Coast Paws does not cover the costs of dental work and/or vet visits. These costs are the financial responsibility of the adopter.

ADOPTION FEE:

  • My adoption fee is $840.00 CAD including tax (5% GST, 7% PST), which includes my airfare, if a flight volunteer is found directly to Vancouver.

The info included in each WCP bio is provided to us from the international rescuer. WCP does not have in-person access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions, although we ask for video proof of a dog's attributes wherever possible. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person(s) adopting them and the environment in which they live.

WCP is unable to guarantee the accuracy of a dogs age and/or breed. These are strictly "best guesses" based on veterinary exams and their educated estimates.
