My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Kenpachi is a sweet, shy domestic shorthair that came into our care in critical condition in August 2025. He came in with his mama and 3 siblings. While on the streets, Kenpachi and his pack caught a severe stomach bug. When intaken by VAC, they were struggling and their lives were at risk.

Treatment was lengthy and intense but he and his family are healed, doing so much better! Because of the intensive treatment and traumatic street life, Kenpachi is very shy and can come off as antisocial. We promise that underneath the shy shell, he is just a sweet, affectionate gentleman in need of a patient, loving home.

He will need time, patience and a calm home where he can decompress on his own terms.

If you are interested in meeting Kenpachi, please submit an application a www.valleyanimal.org.

His adoption fee is donation based (choose your price) which includes neuter, up to date vaccines, preventatives, microchip and FeLV/FIV test.

We are open as appointment-based WED-FRI 12-4 and walk ins SAT-SUN 10-4.

More about this shelter

Valley Animal Center houses thousands of dogs and cats annually until they are placed in loving homes. Majority of our shelter animals are rescued from local animal control agencies who have no more space for their animals. Even animals who have been abused, mistreated, abandoned, and injured are cared for and nurtured until a loving home is ready to adopt them.

We are easily accessible to the residents of the entire six-county region it serves. Even individuals from out of the area and out of state have come to Valley Animal Center to adopt animals from us and utilize our clinic services.

Our mission is to unite dogs and cat with loving people but it does not simply end at the adoption process. With our low-cost clinic, a membership-based dog park, and humane education resources found on our website, we want to ensure our community has easy access to resources that will help them along in their pet ownership journey.
