My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Rico is a bundle of joy weighing 55 pounds, and he's ready to fill your life with love and laughter. This sweet boy is fully vaccinated, heartworm negative, and neutered -- all set for his next big adventure: finding a forever home. After being found roaming the streets of Downtown Dallas, Rico was taken in by a kind couple who gave him temporary shelter. He quickly bonded with their two dogs, showing his affectionate and social nature. Rico thrives on connection -- he adores other dogs, delights in sunbathing, enjoys playful toy sessions, and loves leisurely walks. Rico would flourish in a home where he can continue to grow emotionally and physically, surrounded by love and companionship. A perfect fit for a family or individual who values connection, play, and outdoor time. If you or someone you know is ready to welcome a loyal, loving companion, please consider Rico. Share his story and help him find the home he deserves. The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $300.00 and that includes their vaccinations, spay or neuter, rabies and microchip. Our dogs are also heartworm negative (or we will cover their treatment). To start the process please visit our website and fill out the adoption application (www.dfwrescueme.org) and from there the foster family can answer any questions and arrange a time to meet. Rico is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so custody and ongoing care are provided by the foster, not by DFWRMOctober 18, 2025, 11:38 pm

We spay / neuter these dogs as well as provide all necessary medical care. We also educate the public about responsible pet ownership. We love dogs and our goal is to reduce / eliminate euthanisias being done in this area by shelters due to overcrowding.
