[DogName] is a COURTESY LISTING available for private adoption -- for more information, please contact the owner listed below. DO NOT apply through the GSRA website as this dog and owner are not affiliated with GSRA. Marcy is a medium long-hair black German Shepherd. She has been spayed and is current on vaccines. She is a great guard dog letting me know if anything is causing her concern. However, she is not aggressive at all. She gets along with all dogs and my cat (has not been around other cats but does not appear to have a prey drive whatsoever). She is affectionate, housebroken, gets in her bed at command, will always come when called, and will get in her kennel by just opening the door. She sleeps in my bedroom at night and is an indoor dog (black, long-hair dogs should never be left outside in the heat and humidity of the day since black attracts heat). She gets to go out 4-5 times in a large fenced area with the other dogs. She is definitely GSD intelligent. She is an active girl and needs exercise. A person who is active (hiking, walking, running, etc.) would be the best for her. She loves to play and gets super happy when I open the gate and we walk around the property. More about this rescue
Thank you for considering adopting a GSRA dog. We love that you are exploring rescuing a GSD. We firmly believe that the adoption of a dog is not one to be taken lightly. Because of this belief, our adoption process is what some would described as lengthy and can be emotional. If you are looking to take a dog home "tomorrow", unfortunately our organization is not for you.
