[DogName] is a COURTESY LISTING available for private adoption -- for more information, please contact the owner listed below. DO NOT apply through the GSRA website as this dog and owner are not affiliated with GSRA. Ivy is smart and well-trained. We've had her since she was 11 weeks old, and weve spent a ton of time working with her (along with multiple trainers) and made a lot of progress! She's crate trained (and loves her crate). She's perfect on a leash and can walk her off leash with the ecollar and shes got above average obedience skills. She loves the dog park and gets along great with other dogs. Ivy struggles with barrier aggression, especially behind the fence in our yard and when shes crated when new people come over. We have 3 small kids, who she adores, but she does not do well with kids who are not ours. She is very anxious around children, which is why we're in the position we're in. Having a neighborhood full of kids who come in and out of our house and yard with no thought of Ivy is a risk we cannot take. As far as adults, she does pretty well once she has the opportunity to sniff them out on her terms. The ideal environment for her would be a no-kid household, and someone who has the time and energy to continue to work with her. More about this rescue
Thank you for considering adopting a GSRA dog. We love that you are exploring rescuing a GSD. We firmly believe that the adoption of a dog is not one to be taken lightly. Because of this belief, our adoption process is what some would described as lengthy and can be emotional. If you are looking to take a dog home "tomorrow", unfortunately our organization is not for you.
