Meet Maggie, a gentle and loving Plott Hound mix who’s been through a lot but still has the kindest soul.
At about 3 years old, Maggie is sweet, docile, and laid-back — the kind of dog who just wants a soft bed, kind words, and someone to love her. She’s easygoing and quiet, happy to curl up near you and soak in affection.
Maggie has a large tumor that needs to be removed, but the wonderful news is that her surgery is fully sponsored! What she needs most now is a forever home where she can recover surrounded by comfort and care.
This girl has so much love left to give, and she deserves the chance to heal and start her next chapter in a home, not a kennel.

Visit the Facility and Find a Pet

We prefer to schedule appointments for meet-and-greets to ensure that staff or volunteers are available to spend adequate time helping you/

Meet the Pet

For safety reasons, please do not reach into kennels or attempt to touch animals through barriers. If you’re interested in a particular pet.

3.
Submit Application

After your visit, you’re welcome to submit an adoption application.

4.
Approve Application

After the application is submitted, we will review it and contact you if your application is chosen.

5.
Take the Pet Home

Once your application is approved, we will contact you to finalize the adoption process!

All that is needed for the adoption application is a

We are located at 1600 Johnson Road in Petersburg, Virginia.
Our hours of operation are Monday - Friday 10am till 3pm.
We are closed Saturdays and Sundays (as well as holidays) but are available by appointment outside of our open hours.
